    Book - Broken Earth Trilogy

    in Books, TV & Podcasts

    Author: N. K. Jemisin

This is a sci-fi series that starts with "The Fifth Season". It follows various women through in a strange world where tectonic plates are always moving and causing a lot of damage.

Jemisin won the Hugo Award for best novel, the first African-American to win the award. And then she was the first author EVER to win it three consecutive years in a row.

It's weird and odd and told in such a gripping way (including the unusual use of the 2nd person point of view). Every chapter peels away a layer to get to the core of what the story is about. If you think sci-fi is a bit boring give this a go.
